Topicals

CBD Topicals come in many varieties and dosages, but as the name suggests, have one thing in common, you use them directly on a part of your body.  There are many varieties to choose from. 

Nourishing or Healing Creams, some containing Manuka honey are designed to soothe your skin.

Pain Creams that are combined with other elements such as menthol to provide a heating or cooling effect. 

Athletic Rubs such as CBD Balms and CBD Salves may include essential oils like lavender and peppermint to support muscle recovery with the power of soothing and revitalizing botanicals.  Shea butter and cacao butter work to nourish and hydrate your skin and potential pain relief properties. 

Muscle Gels products may combined CBD with the therapeutic properties of peony root extract and licorice root extract work in synergy with menthol and camphor to fight inflammation.

Other - there are many other specialized types if products including massage oils, face serums and more. Bath Products could also be considered topicals, which we describe more in CBD Bath Products.

HOW TO USE

Most CBD topicals are simple enough to use, just apply to the skin on the desired areas. You can repeat this throughout the day as needed. Because topicals are absorbed through the skin, the results can vary quite a bit depending on skin conditions and individual bodies. When choosing a product be sure to understand which of the product types is right for your situation and contact us if you have any questions.

DOSAGE

The dosage for CBD topicals can be very dependent on the particular usage, but it starts with understanding the dosage on the product. The milligrams of CBD listed on the product label is typically the quantity in the entire bottle or container. That means you need to divide the total number of milligrams by the number of ounces in the container. For example, a 300mg CBD product in a 3oz. tube would be 100mg per ounce. By doing this you can level-set each of the products. You may decide to buy a lower concentrated CBD topical if you have a large area of your body to cover, if for nothing else, economical reasons since the CBD is the high-cost component of the product. Select your product based on how much you might use in a given month and then get something relatively strong to ensure you will be getting the effect.
