What is the Federal Hemp Ban?

In November 2025, packaged as part of a measure that ended the longest government shutdown in history, legislation was signed to redefine legal hemp-THC products as containing a maximum of 0.4 milligrams of total THC per container. The new legislation would close a so-called “loophole” from the 2018 Farm Bill that allowed for THC products like gummies, THC drinks, and vapes to be sold online and at retail.

What products are being banned?

The sale of Hemp-THC products with more than .4 milligrams of total THC per container will be banned. Hemp-derived cannabinoids like Delta-9 THC, Delta-8 THC, THCa, THCp, and others fall under this umbrella. Unfortunately, this includes many products we sell at The Green Dragon CBD, including vapes, gummies, and drinks—and these products will no longer be available for purchase through our website or at our store in Chesterfield, Missouri.

The Timeline on the Ban:

You may have heard that the federal ban was pushed back from November 12, 2026 to December 11. However, the state of Missouri’s ban still takes effect on November 12, and as a Missouri-based business, The Green Dragon CBD will comply with state law. Accordingly, our last day to ship THC products (vapes, gummies, etc.) will be November 11.

Important dates to know:

November 11, 2026: the last day we can ship THC at The Green Dragon CBD

November 12, 2026: the Missouri THC ban goes into effect

December 11, 2026: the federal hemp ban goes into effect
