Terpene products share many of the characteristics of CBD Oil and Tinctures, but are made up of specific Terpenes to create specific effects with distinct aromas.  Secreted in the same glands that produce cannabinoids like THC and CBD, terpenes are aromatic oils that color cannabis varieties with distinctive flavors like citrus, berry, mint, and pine. Terpenes may play a key role in differentiating the effects of various cannabis strains.

You can read one of our blog posts on "What are Terpenes?" which is a great guide to understanding the basics of terpenes.  Volume 2 and Volume 3 complete the terpenes education series on the benefits of the primary cannabis terpenes.

Each product brand has combined various terpenes into blends that define their flavors and desired effects.  This can get quite complex given the dozens of terpenes that exist and various combinations that have been created.   For those interested, please search our blogs and always expanding Education Center for more information.  You can also do a web search for terpenes specific to the brand you might be considering and there are charts available.

Terpenes, like CBD Oil, are most often used sublingually, under your tongue.  Place it under your tongue for about 60 seconds and then swallow it.  Alternatively, you can use it as a food additive, or dissolve it in water and drink it.  For more information, reference The Complete Guide to Sublingual CBD.

Terpenes are often available in easy-to-use daily dose syringes for easy travel.

Terpenes also come available as vape juices for use in your favorite vapor device or may be available as a ready-to-use vape pen.

Taking a CBD Oil, or Tincture, as it may be referred to on packaging, is a very effective way to ingest CBD as part of your daily routine.  It allows your body to effectively absorb CBD and the other cannabinoids to create overall health and well-being.  Potential benefit areas include anxiety, chronic pain, sleep, depression, inflammation, stress and more.

The unique Terpenes also have specific effects depending on the combination created.  Some are more focused on sleep, others on energy, others on pain, etc.

Some people decide that taking it as a morning routine is effective and some also take it at night to add that extra boost before sleep.

First, in terms of understanding the strength of your product, the total milligrams designated on the package should be divided by the number of milliliters in the bottoms, so you know how many mg of terpenes there are per ml.

Terpene daily doses can range between 7mg and 50mg, which is also dependent on the terpene combination you are using.  Refer to the specific product labeling for dosing or contact us with any questions.

Bottles of terpenes tend to have smaller overall dosages, perhaps 100mg versus the 250mg-3500mg for a CBD Oil.  This is due to the concentrated effects of the terpenes, which occur naturally in much lower quantities than CBD.
