What Are Delta-9 THC Vape Pens?

A delta-9 vape pen (or “cart”) is a small chamber filled with cannabis oil or concentrate. That’s because the 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp and its derivatives from the definition of marijuana found in the Controlled Substances Act.

So, as far as the law is concerned, products made from hemp with 0.3% THC or less on a dry weight basis – AKA legal hemp – aren’t controlled substances. Manufacturers can extract or create enough delta-9 THC from hemp plants to create vape carts. And that means they’re not necessarily illegal. Still, it’s always a good idea to check the state and local laws that apply to you before you explore different cannabis products.

Delta 9 vs. Delta 8

While they may hail from the same family, delta 8 and delta 9 are not the same thing. They are extremely similar; only a small molecular difference distinguishes them from one another.

But a single bond or atom is enough to create unique effects in the body, as it impacts how the molecule binds to receptors in your brain. As a result, delta-8 THC is generally known as a less potent version of delta 9, but everyone’s biology and tolerance are different. Your results may vary!
